HPD - Home & Personal Defense class:
Our Home & Personal Defense Course is intended for every level of student, from beginner to experienced, but is especially relevant for students with a concealed carry permit or those who keep a gun in the home for self-defense.
We discuss common self-defense scenarios that can occur in public and within the home. We discuss the difference between real life vs. myths or “movie make-believe”. Students are then shown ways to recognize and hopefully avoid potential problems ahead of time and are taught strategies they can use if the situation is unavoidable. These strategies include tips for preplanning at home and at commonly visited places, plus how to train effectively with family and friends.
This class is taught entirely indoors and does not involve any live fire. While this class is mostly discussion and scenarios, there is also the opportunity for some hands-on instruction using fake guns & inert training aids.
Because of the interactive nature of this course, class size is limited.
This class is about 6 hours long and all equipment is provided for each student. This class is a prerequisite to both the Self Defense Simulator class and a prerequisite to the Defensive Handgun & Shoot-house class, which are both taught on separate days.
**Our Home & Personal Defense course is usually offered twice a month, year-round, mostly at our Bladen county location. It is usually taught starting at 8:30am-3pm with a short lunch break mid-day and is spent entirely inside the classroom; therefore, weather is not a factor.
This class and our “EDC Equipment & Gear” class is scheduled for the same day, with this class in the morning and the EDC Equipment & Gear class in the late afternoon.
